I learned how to turn on my oven. It only took me two months to get over the fear that I had to actually light the thing myself.
When I was first told that I had to manually light the oven I thought there was no way in hell I was going to reach my hand into a gas oven and light it. I like my fingers and arms just the way they are.
Ends up, as long as I have one of those long lighter thingys I don’t have to reach my hand anywhere.
My first dish in the oven? A semi-vegetarian lasagna (I added beef flavoring. I couldn’t resist. I’m from Texas.) that was quite tasty if I do say so myself.
No matter for the moment. If I find an oven thermometer I’ll get one. If not, I’ll keep guessing and hoping for the best.
