A Skeleton of a Different Kind

I had a busy but peaceful day at work today. I think taking the time to meditate/pray was a big reason why. At the end of a long, busy day I was still happy, bouyant even.

Then, I got in the car to go home.

In the middle of a major street was a burned out bus.

It was a skeleton of a different kind.

Without a doubt, the guarimbas–the barricades–are going back up. My heart dropped when I saw the bus.

Metal, ash, melted seats, blown out tires.

It was something and nothing all at the same time.

I don’t know if the bus will be cleared out by tomorrow morning. The mayor of San Diego, a nearby town, was actually arrested and jailed for not having the blockades cleared when ordered to do so. Cars drove in the small space between the bus and a massive tree to get through. The traffic jam began.

I don’t know what will happen, but time will tell.

Until then, I will try to keep the peaceful feeling around me…even if it’s a peace in the midst of a brewing storm.
