I already shared my thoughts on teacher tenure. Here are a few others.

I particularly agree with the first argument that administrators have the right to deny a person tenure. If administrators are granting tenure to incompetent teachers that’s a sign of poor management, and that’s on you. Of course, if tenure is granted throughout a person’s career, then you can’t be granting people tenure left, right, and, center unless you think they’re really beneficial to the profession and the children. It’s what I explained to  a friend when she worked in DC education during the Michelle Rhee era.
