(Im)Migrating with a Purpose is Nominated for Black Weblog Awards! Please Vote.

I’m excited to announce that this blog, (Im)Migrating with a Purpose, has been nominated in four categories for the Black Weblog Awards: Best Writing in a Blog, Best Travel Blog, Best Blog Post Series, and Best International Blog.

If there has been a post that resonated with you since the blog’s inception, whether it was about J’Ouvert in Brooklyn (my most popular post to date), standards of beauty, domestic abuse, the Venezuelan protests, or teaching in general, please vote for the blog here. The first round of voting closes October 14th. Thus, please take a couple of seconds now and vote before the week slips away from you (and me).

I view these nominations as affirmations that there’s a diversity in the Black experience just like there’s a diversity in life. We are all complex human beings despite what the larger media may suggest.

May the voting begin!
